FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

How do I book a game?
Book your game online at www.maggievalleypuzzlerooms.com

Will I be paired with others in a room?
There is a chance that you might be paired with other participants unless you book the whole room. Much of it will depend on scheduling demand.

How do I book an entire room?
You must purchase the maximum capacity for the specified room.

Do I need to reserve a room in advance, or can I just show up?
Each room is reserved ahead of time. There may be a chance that a room has not been reserved, but we discourage just showing up since we may not be able to accommodate you.

Will I be “locked” in the room?
You will not be locked in the room. Local laws do not allow us to lock participants in a room, but if you leave the room before you solve the mystery and find the exit pass, you will not be allowed back in the room for that time period.

Are the rooms hard?
It depends on who is playing. They are not too easy, but if they were easy, it would not be any fun. You will, however, be able to ask for clues if you need them.

How early should I arrive?
Your group should arrive at least fifteen minutes before your time block. After you arrive, you will have to sign a waiver and be given rules and instructions. If you arrive late, you will have fewer than the allotted 60 minutes to solve the clues.

How much does it cost?
The cost is $25.00 per person, but there are military, educator, and senior citizen discounts.

How do I pay?
Payment is made online at time of booking.

Do you offer refunds?
Our games are non-refundable, but if you contact us at least 24 hours before your start time, we can reschedule your reservation.

Do you offer group discounts?
There is a discount of groups of 5 or more.
Are the rooms scary?
At the present time, the rooms we offer are not scary. When we add additional rooms, there may be a chance one of the rooms will have a scary theme.

What ages are allowed to play?
We suggest ages 13 and older. However, we allow people younger than 13 to play, but the puzzles and clues may be difficult for them. People age 15 and younger must be accompanied by an adult.

Can you accommodate large groups?
Because of the size of the rooms, we have to limit the group size to about 8 people. The rooms are ideal for groups of 2-6. However, we hope to be able to expand our group size in the future.

How long is each game?
The game itself is 60 minutes, but allow for 90 minutes—15 minutes before the game and 15 minutes after the game for briefing and de-briefing.

Are there any other restrictions I should know about?
Cell phones, food, drinks, knives, and any other kinds of tools are not allowed in the rooms. Also keep in mind that anyone who comes in under the influence of alcohol or drugs will not be allowed to participate.

Do you have any suggestions before we play?
1.  Do not guess random combinations without having some idea of what the combination might be. This will only waste time.
2. Do not try to pick locks or force open locks.
3. Communicate with each other. Work together by sharing clues you’ve uncovered. If you discover new information, be sure everyone in the room knows about it.
4. You will be informed of the rules before you go into the room, but in general:
• There is no need to lift or move heavy objects, or climb on top of furniture.
• None of our games require the use of force. If something seems secured in place, it is.
• If you break something in one of our games by using excessive force or reckless behavior, you must pay for it.

Can I bring my baby or pet?
The presence of a baby or a pet may interfere with others’ enjoyment of the game, so we ask that you do not bring them. If you require a service animal, you must contact us before booking.
